At the on-going CES 2017, Kingston has just introduced a new DataTraveler Ultimate GT, “the world’s highest capacity USB flash drive” with up to 2TB of storage space. It is a USB 3.0 flash drive, which means that it should work on most existing laptops though, if you are using a newer device with only USB-C ports, you will need a dongle for that.
Available in 1TB and 2TB storage options, the Kingston DataTraveler Ultimate GT features a zinc-ally casing because with the amount of data you can store in the flash drive, it’d better be durable. The DataTraveler Ultimate GT transfers at USB 3.1 Gen 1 speeds.
The Kingston DataTraveler Ultimate GT will be available from February 2017 onwards. While the company did not announce any pricing, do not expect it to be anywhere as affordable as a regular typical flash drive we can find right now since this small little device can probably hold more things than your big bulky laptop.
