Samsung may have designed the Galaxy S7 with dust and water resistant features, but that doesn’t mean it has no intention of releasing ruggedised version of the smartphone. A listing in the Samsung Level app has revealed the existence of the Samsung Galaxy S7 Active, which according to the company’s naming conventions should mean that it will include features for people who spend more time outdoors.
Naturally, there’s nothing else known about the Galaxy S7 Active; aside from the fact that it will likely retain the dust and water resistance of the Galaxy S7. It could potentially also have a larger battery, as was the case with the Galaxy S6 Active. The protection of the Galaxy S7 Active may also be improved over the base model.
It is difficult to tell when the Galaxy S7 Active will be officially announced. The Galaxy S7 edge was only recently released; and the regular Galaxy S7 isn’t even in the country yet. All this means is that there could still be quite a long wait before we hear any proper news about the next Galaxy S7 variant.
