Apple’s global price reduction for the iPad Air 2 is now effective in the Apple online store in Malaysia, with the tablet now available from RM1,699.
At the launch of the 9.7-inch iPad Pro, Apple also annouced a $100 price drop for the iPad Air 2 (about RM405). The Malaysian price drop doesn’t directly reflect this, with the majority of reduction averaging only RM300.
On top of that, Apple has also removed the 128GB option for the iPad Air 2. The new prices are listed below, with the old RRP in parantheses:
iPad Air 2 16GB WiFi: RM1,699 (RM1,999)
iPad AIr 2 64GB WiFi: RM2,099 (RM2,399)
iPad Air 2 16GB WiFi + Cellular: RM2,199 (2,499)
iPad Air 2 64GB WiFi + Cellular: RM2,599 (RM2,899)
These new prices are largely similar to the pre-GST prices of the iPad Air 2. That said, the new price reduction does make this tablet a little more appealing, especially considering the 9.7 iPad Pro is still unavailable in Malaysia (and when it does arrive, it will likely be priced on a higher pricing tier).
