Another day, another smartwatch announcement and this time, it is from Swiss watchmaker – Swatch. The company recently unveiled the Tissot Smart-Touch smartwatch that unlike the ones announced last year (Bellamy that focuses on NFC payment, and Touch Zero One that is designed for volleyball players), is more of a proper smartwatch, featuring navigation, automatic time update, and weather update (humidity, air quality and temperature).
The Tissot Smart-Touch isn’t a full-fledge smartwatch so don’t expect Android Wear, digital display with different watch faces to pick from, and such. It is a traditional analogue watch, but it can connect to your smartphone to bring the aforementioned features right to the wearer’s wrist. Sadly though, the company did not mention anything about notifications or if the Smart-Touch will have the basic steps and sleep tracking on board.
Other features include a long-lasting battery life of up to a year on a charge, solar power to help prolong the battery life, and connects to a “Smart-Touch FindIt” tag that you can use as a keychain so that when you press a button on the watch, the tag will ring and help you locate your misplaced keys.
