During CES 2016 earlier this year, Razer has introduced its Blade Stealth gaming notebook to the members of the public for the first time. At the same time, the company revealed that users can actually plug in a Thunderbolt 3 external graphics card enclosure called Razer Core to boost its graphics capabilities. However, it is only today that Razer has revealed more details regarding it.
For starters, Razer has revealed the list of graphics cards that are compatible with the Core eGFX enclosure:
AMD
Radeon R9 Fury
Radeon R9 300 Series
Radeon R9 290X
Radeon R9 290
Radeon R9 280
NVIDIA
GeForce GTX Titan X
GeForce GTX 980 Ti
GeForce GTX 980
GeForce GTX 970
GeForce GTX 960
GeForce GTX 950
GeForce GTX 750 Ti
GeForce GTX 750
Comes with a built-in 500 watts PSU to support its operation alongside two Chroma light zones, not to forget that the Core eGFX enclosure also acts as a port extender since it is equipped with four USB 3.0 ports, and a Gigabit Ethernet port.
Meanwhile, the pre-order for Razer Core has be opened today in United States although the shipment will take place only in April. As for the pricing, the Razer Core carries a price tag of USD 499 (RM 2,038) although it can be obtained at USD 399 (RM 1,628) when purchased together with Blade Stealth or the 2016 version of Blade.
However, the company didn’t reveal its availability for other markets throughout the world and there is no sign of it in Razer’s online store for Malaysia for the time being. Sorry gamers, you have to play waiting game at the moment if you want to get your hands on the Razer Core.
