While the launch of Galaxy S7 edge in Malaysia is its main focus for today, that doesn’t stop Samsung from talking about other products that it will release in Malaysia soon. Alongside Samsung Pay, one such product is the Gear 360 camera which was announced alongside the Galaxy S7 series at Mobile World Congress earlier this year.
Specifically, the Gear 360 will apparently make its way to Malaysia within the second quarter of 2016. However, no further details such as exact release date or pricing were mentioned during the event.
Designed to allow users to snap photos and record videos in 360-degrees, the Gear 360 is built with two 15-megapixels f/2.0 cameras and powered by Samsung’s own DRIMe5s image processor. However, the camera is only compatible with a selection of Galaxy smartphones including the newly released Galaxy S7 and S7 edge as well as Galaxy S6, S6 edge, S6 edge+, and Note 5.
Nevertheless, contents generated by the camera can be enjoyed on any virtual reality headset including Samsung Gear VR. For now, guess we have to sit tight and wait for further information from Samsung regarding Gear 360’s upcoming arrival in Malaysia.
