Officially unveiled just a few weeks ago at MWC 2016, Samsung Malaysia has officially launched the Galaxy S7 edge in Malaysia. As expected, the smaller Galaxy S7 is not introduced alongside this bigger variant in Malaysia, although both devices are almost similar in terms of specification – other than the S7 edge’s unique dual-curved display, of course.
As far as specifications go, the Galaxy S7 edge is one of the best equipped flagship smartphones so far this year. It is packed with a sharp 5.5-inch 2560 x 1440 Super AMOLED display, a fast Exynos 8890 octa-core processor paired with 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM, 32GB of internal storage (thankfully, expandable with a microSD card up to 200GB), a much bigger 3,600mAh battery over its predecessor’s 2,600mAh cell, and an IP68-rated body.
One of the highlight features of the Galaxy S7 edge is its new 12MP dual-pixel camera with Smart OIS. While this new sensor has less megapixel count over the S6 edge’s 16MP camera, the dual-pixel sensor provides much faster autofocus speeds along with improved performance. Rounding out the specifications of the S7 edge are a 5MP front-facing shooter, LTE connectivity, as well as support for fast charging.
Samsung Malaysia will be holding several roadshows for the Galaxy S7 edge across the country from tomorrow onwards. If you’d like to get your hands on the device (along with a chance to score yourself some goodies), you can find out more about these roadshows here.
