AMD Radeon Pro Duo Goes Official: The World’s Fastest Graphics Card, Featuring Two Fiji GPUs

Based on its Fiji GPU, AMD has officially announced its new dual GPU graphics card earlier today in the form of Radeon Pro Duo. Given the fact that the card has been teased multiple times since June 2015 including during the launch of R9 300 series in Malaysia, it is indeed about time that the company finally made the card official.

As expected, the card features two Fiji GPUs which include a total of 8GB memory as each Fiji GPU comes with 4GB of HBM module. Complete with four DisplayPort, three 8-pin power connectors, and a closed loop liquid cooling system by Cooler Master, AMD claimed that the card is able to deliver 16 TFLOPS worth of computing power – more than the rumored figure of 12 TFLOPS.

At the same time, AMD also claimed that the Radeon Pro Duo have comfortably surpassed its own R9 295X2 as well as NVIDIA GeForce Titan Z in 3DMark Fire Strike test according to its internal testing:

Benchmark Results: AMD Radeon Pro Duo vs Radeon R9 295X2 vs NVIDIA GeForce Titan Z

*Test machine specs: Intel Core i7-5960X, 16GB RAM, AMD driver 15.301, NVIDIA driver 361.91, Windows 10.

While AMD claimed that the card is made for both content creation and consumption, the Radeon Pro Duo carries a hefty price tag though. Targeted for release sometime in second quarter of 2016, it will be priced at USD 1,499 which equals to about RM 6,185. Ouch.
