Not too long ago, Samsung introduced the entry-level J1 Mini in the Philippines. For those who are looking to get an affordable Android smartphone, keep your eyes peeled: the J1 Mini may be arriving here in Malaysia soon.
Just recently, Samsung has registered a smartphone with the model number SM-J105B/DS with SIRIM; a quick Google search revealed that it is in fact the J1 Mini. As an entry-level smartphone, the J1 Mini has a rather basic design, which isn’t exactly a bad thing. On top of that, its overall appearance is unmistakably that of a Samsung smartphone.
In terms of specification, the J1 Mini won’t blow anyone away; after all, it’s an entry-level device. It has a 4.0-inch 800 x 480 TFT display, a 1.2GHz quad-core processor paired with 768MB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage (expandable with a microSD card up to 128GB), and a small 1,500mAh battery. Rounding out the specifications are 5MP rear and VGA front-facing cameras, dual-SIM support, as well as Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box.
Unfortunately, the retail prices and availability of the Samsung J1 Mini have not been announced yet. Considering its entry-level hardware, it should be an affordable device. Hopefully, it will be launched by Samsung Malaysia soon.
