Samsung will be holding a series of roadshows across Malaysia to promote the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S7 edge. These roadshows will allow customers to drop in and give the company’s latest flagship smartphone a go, and will also offer additional benefits for those who turn up prepared to buy the devices.
The first 2,000 customers at each location to purchase a new Galaxy S7 edge will also receive a complementary Samsung Gear VR headset. The S7 edge is designed to retroactively work with the Gear VR, so there should be no compatibility problems with Samsung’s entry into the emerging virtual reality space.
Buying the Galaxy S7 edge is also made easier for all who turn up at the roadshows. Samsung is offering a trade-in programme for those looking to upgrade their devices. There is no information about what smartphones will be accepted for this programme, nor has Samsung revealed how much value it is offering for the trade-ins. Customers will either have to find out themselves at the roadshow, or visit a Samsung authorised retail store for an assessment.
The Samsung Galaxy S7 edge roadshows will take place from 10am until 10pm each day beginning from 18 March. Each location across Malaysia will run for a different amount of time according to the following list:
- 18th – 22nd March Kuala Lumpur: Centre Court, Suria KLCC Shopping Mall
- 18th – 21st March Johor: G Floor Main Entrance, KSL City, Johor Bahru
- 18th – 20th March Penang: Centre Atrium, Queensbay Mall, Bayan Lepas
- 18th – 20th March Sarawak: C Atrium, VivaCity Megamall, Kuching
Samsung is only launching the the Galaxy S7 edge in Malaysia for now, although it may introduce the regular version at some point in the future. What we do know is that pre-orders for the device sold out in three hours, prompting Samsung to hold a second round for those who couldn’t get their hands on the smartphone the first time.
