As some of you might already know especially Dota 2 fans and gamers alike, the playoff section of The Shanghai Major championship begins today. While there are many ways to watch the tournament online including Steam, Twitch, or through the event’s official website, fans and gamers are now able to see it live on Astro as well.
Just like the previous Dota 2 Frankfurt Major which was also shown live on the satellite TV, the live telecast of The Shanghai Major is available for free for all Astro subscribers on Astro SuperSport Plus (channel 808). Additionally, viewers – both Astro and non-Astro subscribers – are also able to watch the event through Astro On-The-Go platform either through its website or mobile apps on Android as well as iOS.
According to the information that we received from Astro, The Shanghai Major telecast runs from 10AM to 11PM for today and tomorrow while it will be shown from 10AM to 10PM on 4 and 5 March. On 6 March, the telecast starts at 10:30AM and ends at 5PM.
The Shanghai Major is the second event within the Dota Major Championships for 2015/2016 and it offers a total cash pool of USD 3 million (about RM 12.49 million) with USD 1,110,000 (about RM 4,624,371) from that amount alone will be awarded to the champion. At this stage, there are 16 team competing for the top prize including Fnatic which is led by Malaysia’s own Mushi.
