Just recently, there are several teaser images from Oppo that suggests a device with a “9” moniker will be released very soon. While many suspected that the device is the Find 9, it’s not: it’s the next device in Oppo’s R series, the Oppo R9.
Unfortunately, the teasers of the Oppo R9 did not reveal much on the device’s specifications or features. That being said, many believe that the R9 will be Oppo’s “new camera phone,” which suggests that the R9’s camera may be equipped with the company’s new SmartSensor technology – it was unveiled last week at MWC 2016.
It’s also worth noting that Oppo introduced its new fast charging technology dubbed “Super VOOC” at MWC 2016. What makes this technology particularly interesting is the fact that it is able to charge up a 2,500mAh battery in only 15 minutes, which is plenty impressive.
While these are merely educated guesses at this point, it’s not unlikely that these two features could be implemented on the Oppo R9. After all, if it is a high-end camera-centric smartphone, it would only make sense for Oppo to at least utilise the SmartSensor technology on the R9’s camera.
The Oppo R9 will be officially announced on the 17th of March 2016. Until then, it remains to be seen just what is the R9’s unique features.
