Apple is said to be holding an event on the 15th of March, where the Cupertino company will supposedly unveil at least two new products: a smaller iPhone, and a new 9.7-inch iPad Air. But, a recent report is saying that it will not be an iPad Air; the new iPad will fall under the iPad Pro lineup.
if there is a smaller 9.7-inch iPad Pro in the pipeline, it is similar to how Apple has two variants of the MacBook Pro – 13-inch and 15-inch options. In retrospect, a smaller iPad Pro makes a lot more sense than a new iPad Air, seeing how the upcoming tablet will supposedly have the same A9X processor as the bigger 12.9-inch iPad Pro.
As for specifications, nothing has been officially revealed yet. That being said, the 9.7-inch iPad Pro is rumoured to be packing a four-speaker setup, the same amount of RAM as the iPad Pro at 4GB, and of course, support for the Apple Pencil. In addition to that, Apple is reportedly working on a smaller Smart Keyboard accessory for this tablet as well; it will truly be a smaller version of the iPad Pro.
The smaller iPad Pro and the iPhone 5se are expected to be introduced by Apple on the 15th of March 2016, where the company could possibly unveil new wrist strap options for the Apple Watch as well. If a previous report is to be believed, the former two products will be shipping on the 18th of March 2016.
