While OnePlus don’t exactly have anything planned out for Mobile World Congress 2016, the co-founder of the company, Carl Pei, has given us a launch date for the OnePlus 3. If everything goes according to plan, OnePlus’ next flagship device may launch by June 2016.
Not surprisingly, Pei did not reveal much on the OnePlus 3; there are no specifications to speak of, unfortunately. That said, Pei did mention that the OnePlus 3 will have a “different design.” Chances are, the Chinese company’s fourth device will have a different design language over the OnePlus One, OnePlus 2 and OnePlus X.
The OnePlus One
Pei was quoted as saying that he hopes the OnePlus 3 will “captivate” consumers as much as its first device, the OnePlus One, did. Despite the fact that the OnePlus 2 is the company’s most recent flagship device, Pei is aware that the OnePlus One was a more “captivating” device, according to CNET.
Regardless, one question still remains: will the controversial invite system still be in place when the OnePlus 3 is released? Although we Malaysians are not really affected by this (both the OnePlus 2 and OnePlus X are now available for purchase without any form of invite), it may just affect us in the future. We will just have to wait for June 2016 to find out.
