Virtual Reality will be under the spotlight at this year’s Tokyo Game Show (TGS), which is arguably one of the biggest gaming exhibitions this year. The gaming expo will be introducing a new area called the “VR Corner” to showcase all things VR.
This is probably due to the fact that, for a relatively new technology, many seem to have accepted the fact that VR gaming not only significant, but also the way to go in the future. Hence, the creation of the VR Corner at TGS 2016.
Interestingly, this isn’t the first time VR technology has been showcased at TGS; PlayStation VR and Oculus Rift were also present at last year’s expo. Both gaming companies would most probably be returning this year for the event.
Then again, it’s more likely that the showcase would instead focus more on platform exclusive gaming content, since most VR headsets would’ve already been shipped before TGS itself.
The organiser, CESA (Computer Entertainment Supplier’s Association) has announced that this year’s TGS theme would be: Change; which is meant to reflect the changes that are going to happen at TGS 2016. Aside from VR Corner, new areas such as AI Corner and e-sports Corner will also be introduced in TGS 2016 for companies to showcase their upcoming technologies.
TGS 2016 will take place from 15-18 September this year.
