To most of us here, Haier is a manufacturer of home appliances such as air conditioner, television, refrigerators and washing machine. As it turns out, the company also has its own smartphones line-up in certain markets and has launched four news models at Mobile World Congress 2016.
One of them is called HaierPhone Voyage V6 (shown below) which features a 5.5-inch full HD (1920 x 1080) display and running on 2.0GHz MediaTek MT6750 64-bit octa-core processor. It also contains 3GB of RAM, and 32GB internal storage with the support for microSD card.
In addition to a fingerprint reader, Voyage V6 also features 13-megapixels rear camera with f/2.0 lens and dual LED flash. The phone also features an 8-megapixels front camera, and 2,900 mAh battery (some sources said 3,000mAh) as well as pre-installed with Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
Another new HaierPhone in the list is called Voyage V4 (shown below) which also features a 5.5-inch full HD display, 32 GB internal storage, 13-megapixels main camera, and fingerprint scanner. However, it does have smaller amount of RAM at 2GB alongside 5-megapixels front camera and 2,800 mAh battery. It also comes out of box with Android 5.1 Lollipop.
Meanwhile, the two other smartphones that Haier has unveiled at MWC this year come in the form of Leisure L60 and Leisure L56 (shown below). While the L60 has a bigger 5.2-inch display than the L56 which has a 5-inch display, both displays have identical HD (1280 x 720) resolution. Both also share the same 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6735 quad-core processor and 13-megapixels rear camera.
Apart from the screen size, the L60 also has several other advantage than L56 including bigger RAM at 3GB and larger 32GB internal storage as opposed to L56’s 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage. The L56 also doesn’t come with a fingerprint scanner.
In terms of pricing, these devices are said to be EUR 349 (about RM 1,622), EUR 279 (RM 1,296), EUR 246 (RM 1,143), and EUR 229 (RM 1,064) respectively which are not too bad given their metal physique and specs. However, we will most likely not able to see these devices officially in our market though since Haier Malaysia doesn’t release smartphones here (as far as our knowledge goes, that is).
