Acer plans to solve the problem of phone storage by pushing most of the work online. The new Liquid Jade 2 features something Acer is calling “Hybrid Storage”, which looks like 1TB of additional cloud storage. It isn’t the first phone to attempt this idea, although it offers a lot more than the 100GB paired with the Nextbit Robin.
The Acer Liquid Jade 2 sports a 5.5-inch Full HD AMOLED display, which supports the full NTSC colour gamut. Acer fitted the Zero Air Gap technology for improved readability and to reduce the thickness of the Liquid Jade 2.
Powering the Acer Liquid Jade 2 is a Snapdragon 808 processor paired with 3GB of RAM. Storage comes in the form of 32GB internal storage, along with the aforementioned cloud storage. It looks like Acer is simply providing the option to move files online; which isn’t a bad option considering that it’s offering a whole 1TB of storage.
Rounding out the specifications are a 21MP camera on the back, an 8MP wide angle camera on the front, and Android 6.0 out of the box.
There’s no information on pricing yet, although we expect it to come in at the upper mid-range level considering its hardware. The Acer Liquid Jade 2 is expected to arrive in April 2016.
