Fresh from unveiling the F2A88X-D3HP motherboard, Gigabyte has announced another gaming motherboard made for AMD processors. Dubbed the 990FX-Gaming, the gaming motherboard is designed to be used with AMD’s processors with AM3 and AM3+ sockets.
Design-wise, the 990FX-Gaming motherboard features a full black PCB, while certain components are coloured in red. Aside from that, the gaming motherboard has four DDR3 DIMM sockets, which supports up to 32GB of RAM. In addition to that, the motherboard, unsurprisingly, supports both 2-Way AMDs CrossFire and Nvidia SLI technologies.
In terms of storage connectivity, the 990FX-Gaming motherboard is equipped with one M.2 connector along with six SATA 6Gb/s connectors, which supports different RAID configurations. Interestingly, the gaming motherboard includes Gigabyte’s AMP-up Audio, which is said to be the company’s best audio technology implementation.
The 990FX-Gaming motherboard comes with two USB 3.1 (Type-A), four USB 3.0 and one USB 3.1 Type-C ports. Power is drawn from both 24-pin and 8-pin EPS power connectors. It’s worth mentioning that this is an ATX form factor motherboard.
According to Gigabyte, its newest gaming motherboard will be retailing for US$150 (about RM635). Unfortunately, the company hasn’t mentioned the availability of the motherboard in Malaysia, but it should be in retail stores soon enough.
