Huawei will soon be unveiling its next smartphone – the Huawei Mate 8. First launched back in November 2015 in China, the device took a while before it was showcased at this year’s CES stage floors in January. Now, the smartphone is ready to make its official Malaysian debut on the 8th of March.
As a flagship smartphone, the Mate 8 features a 6-inch full HD IPS display, and it is the company’s first smartphone to run on a Kirin 950 octa-core processor paired with up to 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The device also supports memory expansion of up to 128GB via the microSD card slot. Camera wise, on the front you’ll find an 8MP camera while the back will house a 16MP camera equipped with optical image stabilisation (OIS) as well as phase detection autofocus. Besides that, the Mate 8 also has a fingerprint sensor placed right below the rear camera.
Huawei has mentioned that the Mate 8 will be available in four colours – Mocha Brown, Champagne Gold, Space Gray, and Moonlight Silver. That said, these colour options will also determine how much storage and RAM the phone has. The Space Gray and Moonlight Silver version of the Mate 8 will be the 32GB variant that comes with 3GB of RAM, whereas the Mocha Brown and Champagne Gold model of the Mate 8 will be the 64GB variant that has 4GB of RAM equipped.
Huawei has revealed no pricing information on the Mate 8 yet. We’ll just have to wait for the launch event to find out the price, but at least we know that the Mate 8 will soon be available in Malaysia.
