It seems that Samsung is still not giving up on the lower-end tablet market. There have been leaks regarding a new 7-inch tablet that Samsung is working on. The tablet might be called the Galaxy Tab E, but not be confused with the earlier 9.7-inch model; this could be a smaller entry-level model.
The tablet will reportedly have a 7-inch display with a 1280 x 800 resolution. Under the hood, it could run on a 1.3GHz processor coupled with 1.5GB of RAM as well as 8GB of internal storage. In the camera department, it has a 2MP front camera whereas the back will house a 5MP shooter. The device is said to weigh 283g and measure 8.7mm thick. Also, it could run on Android 5.1 Lollipop right out of the box with a 4,000mAh battery powering the tablet.
According to SamMobile, a new report has also suggested that the tablet might be arriving in markets by the end of March or early April of 2016. However, it might take a little longer for Samsung to bring it into Malaysia.
The tablet’s name hasn’t been confirmed yet, but seeing that it’s an entry-level tablet, it could be launched under the Galaxy Tab E or Galaxy Tab A series. Either way, the tablet will come in black or white and is expected to have a retail price of 169 Euro (about RM780).
