Lenovo has announced the new Vibe P1 Turbo in Indonesia, although there is some uncertainty about what makes this new smartphone different from the regular Vibe P1. At the moment, it shares practically the same specifications although it looks like the Vibe P1 Turbo might include a little extra RAM.
We can confirm that the Lenovo Vibe P1 Turbo is a 5.5-inch display smartphone running on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor. It carries 32GB of internal storage, 5MP front camera, finger print sensor, and includes Quick Charge technology. Powering all this is a massive 5,000mAh battery. The key thing to note about these technical specifications is that they are identical to that of the regular Vibe P1, which means this is still essentially the same device.
That being said, there is some confusion about the amount of RAM the Vibe P1 Turbo is packing. The promotional page for the phone lists it at 3GB, while the technical specifications says that the phone is packing 2GB of RAM. We are inclined to believe that it is a simple typo on the part of Lenovo Indonesia, and that the Vibe P1 Turbo is equipped with 3GB of RAM. The only reason for this is that 2GB of RAM would make it the exact same phone as the regular Vibe P1; which would the whole ‘Turbo’ moniker completely pointless.
The sensor size of the rear camera is also unknown, as the announcement suffers the same issues as the RAM. It could either be a 16MP like the Vibe P1 or dropped to a 13MP camera. It is a bit more difficult to guess at the camera size for the Vibe P1 Turbo, and we’ll have to wait until Lenovo clarifies the matter. One notable difference is the switch from nano SIM cards to micro SIM; and this is perhaps the only change of which we can be certain.
The Lenovo Vibe P1 Turbo is on pre-order in Indonesia for 3,999,000 IDR (about RM1200). Which is roughly about as much as the Vibe P1 cost when it was first announced.
