Instagram has finally added support for multiple accounts on a single device in its 7.15 update. This has been a long time coming, although it has probably come a lot later than many users would have liked. In any case, Instagram users on Android and iOS will now be able to manage multiple accounts in a more reasonable way.
Adding an account is as simple as accessing profile settings, scrolling all the way down and selecting “Add Account”. Enter the username and password of the account you’d like to add, and you’re good to go.
To switch between the accounts, visit your profile page and you’ll notice that you can now tap on your Instagram username. Tap your username and select the account you’d like to switch to. Note that you can only add a maximum of five Instagram accounts within the app.
To help users keep track of which account they’re using, the Instagram app will always show the user’s profile photo and username. Users will receive push notifications from any Instagram account that has the setting turned on. For example, if you have four Instagram accounts, you’ll receive notifications from all of the accounts and not only from the account you’re using at the time.
While iPhone and Android users can now switch between accounts on their devices, Windows Phone users will have to wait a little longer as the company is still working on bringing the feature to the Windows version of the Instagram app.
