The long rumoured spring Apple event looks like it will take place on 15 March. Cupertino is expected to announce several new devices, along with new bands for the Apple Watch. That being said, Apple itself has not officially confirmed the date; although industry sources say that the information is accurate.
Apple is set to announce an updated version of the iPhone 5S to fill the role of the 4-inch smartphone. Currently known as the iPhone 5SE, the idea seems to be that Apple needs something new to use as its budget option. The iPhone 5SE is expected to have more in common with the iPhone 6 rather than the iPhone 5S. The internals are being upgraded with the A9 processor, which allows for the always-on Siri option. Aside from that, the front glass is being replaced, along with both cameras and the addition of an NFC chip for Apple Pay.
The iPad Air 3 is also expected to turn up and refresh the product line that hasn’t seen anything new since late 2014. Few details about the new iPad Air, although it is rumoured to be fitted with a new rear camera and dual speakers. Sales of the iPad has waned over the last couple of years, and the a new iPad Air could be just what Apple needs to get things moving again.
Finally, the Apple Watch should be receiving several new wrist strap options. This includes a range of new colours and an entirely new line supposedly made using a new material. We have no idea what this could possibly mean, but Apple has been known to get very creative when it comes to making their devices look extra attractive.
