As you might know, one of the major differences between TM’s UniFi Advance Plans that were launched last year as compared to the original UniFi VIP plans are their asymmetrical nature. While many customers seemed to be fine with the higher 30 and 50 Mbps download speed on the new plans, some criticized the plans’ 5 and 10 Mbps upload speed although TM has justified the move by stating that most of its UniFi customers don’t fully utilized their upload speed.
However, it seems like TM has budged in to the criticism by quietly increasing the upload speed as discovered on the “Get It Now” section of the official website for UniFi Advance Plan Personal.
Under the new changes, UniFi 30Mbps customers are now able to utilize upload speed of 10Mbps while 50Mbps customers receive 20Mbps upload speed which are essentially two times faster than the original upload speed for UniFi Advance Plan Personal. The monthly fee for either of the plan still remained the same.
It is not known when did TM has actually increased the upload speed for its UniFi Advance Plan but we noticed that somehow the changes have yet to appear on other parts of the website. At the same time, there are no such changes to the upload speed of UniFi Advance Plans for business customers as far as the listing on UniFi’s official website is concerned at the moment.
With that, do test our your UniFi 30 or 50Mbps connection to see if TM has implemented the changes on your account. Once you did that, share with us the results in the comment section below.
