It seems like the second generation Motorola Moto 360 has arrived in Malaysia, and there are two variants to choose from. Retailing from RM1,399, this is not an affordable wearable, although its competition – such as the Samsung Gear S2 – roughly retail at the same price point as well.
We first spotted the local availability of the new Moto 360 on Lazada, and it appears that the e-commerce site has exclusivity over the sale of the smartwatch in Malaysia. While the retail prices of the second generation Moto 360 are rather high, it’s worth noting that the smartwatch comes with a one-year one-to-one swap warranty from Lenovo Malaysia, which is pretty interesting.
Currently, only two variants of the new Moto 360 are listed on Lazada: the 42mm and 46mm models, which have appeared on SIRIM a couple of months ago. It’s worth noting that the Sport variant of the Moto 360 has also been registered with SIRIM, although it has not been listed on Lazada at the time of this writing.
In terms of specification, the second generation Moto 360 has a 1.37-inch 360 x 325 resolution LCD display on the smaller 42mm model, while the bigger 46mm variant has a 1.56-inch 360 x 330 LCD panel. Other than that, the smartwatch features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor paired with 512MB of RAM, 4GB of built-in storage, 300mAh or 400mAh battery on the 42mm and 46mm models respectively, a heart rate sensor, as well as a new lug design with quick release pins for easier swapping of watch bands.
If you’re keen to get your hands on the second generation smartwatch from Motorola, you can place your order on Lazada. The most affordable variant – the 42mm model – is available in two colours: Black (with a black leather strap) and Rose Gold, which is paired with a Blush leather strap. These two models go for RM1,399 and RM1,499 respectively, while the larger 46mm Silver Moto 360 – with a Cognac leather strap – go for RM1,599.
