An unidentified source is claiming that Apple is preparing to announce a new iPad Air (possibly called the iPad Air 3) at an event in mid-March. This would be alongside a similarly rumoured iPhone 5se and several new Apple Watch designs. Apple is aiming to make the announcement in 14 March, although the final date is still subject to change.
The iPad Air hasn’t been updated since it was released back in October 2014; a situation that could have possibly contribute to the lackluster tablet sales from Apple. A leaked schematic design of the new iPad Air suggests that it will come with a 9.7-inch display, dual speakers, and a rear facing LED flash for the camera. Furthermore, Apple has apparently also been testing versions of the iPad Air 3 that are compatible with the Apple Pencil.
Apple is expected to roll out a pair of operating system updates to accompany the new devices. Users should be prepared to expect iOS 9.3 with Night Shift for the iPad Air 3 and iPhone 5se; while the Apple Watch should be getting the new Maps app through WatchOS 2.2.
