Zowie Gear has announced a recall for several of its gaming mice. The reason for the recall was due to a random double-clicking issue faced by several users. According to Zowie Gear, the products that were affected consist of gaming mice from the EC, FK and ZA series. Zowie Gear further mentioned that the worldwide sales and production of the affected gaming mice series will not continue for the time being.
In light of the recall, Zowie Gear has offered consumers that are affected with a product replacement option. Interestingly, the company is also offering product replacement for those that weren’t affected by the random double-click issue, provided a valid warranty is present. According to Zowie Gear, products that were affected are the new FK1, FK2, ZA11, ZA12, ZA13, EC1-A and E2-A models.
However, it was found the issue was only reported by consumers from the Nordic and North America regions. Zowie Gear then mentioned in its recall announcement that there is little possibility for consumers in other countries to face similar issues. Nonetheless, consumers that own the aforementioned products by Zowie Gear may contact local retailers and distributors to register for the offered product replacement.
Zowie Gear was acquired by BenQ late last year and has since been the e-sports brand for BenQ. Gaming mice by the company are widely regarded as one of the best in the industry, especially for FPS gamers. It’s good to see the company taking responsibility for the issue and plans to compensate for it.
