Oppo has announced its latest smartphone under the new ‘F’ series – the Oppo F1. The company has put a lot of work in perfecting the smartphone’s front camera for selfie professionals and has introduced new features for the F1’s camera to that end.
In terms of hardware, the Oppo F1 features a 5-inch 720p screen which is protected by Corning’s Gorilla Glass 4. It runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 paired with 3GB of RAM. In terms of storage, the Oppo F1 houses 16GB of internal storage with microSD card expansion of up to 128GB. Rounding out the device’s specifications are the non-removable Li-ion 2,500mAh battery, 13MP rear camera, 8MP rear snapper, as well as dual-SIM dual-4G support.
Dubbed the “Selfie Expert”, the Oppo F1 sports an 8MP front camera with a wide f/2.0 aperture lens as well as a 1/4-inch sensor to take clearer and brighter selfies. Oppo has also included “Beautify 3.0” and eight filters to enhance the user’s selfies. Oppo F1 users can also take selfies in the dark with the company’s new “Screen Flash” feature (which uses the display as a flash).
Oppo has also included the “Palm Shutter” feature where users can just raise their palm and the camera will automatically take a selfie after a short countdown.
The Oppo F1 will first be sold on the company’s official online store on the 22nd of January for RM1198. The first 200 customers who successfully purchase the phone will receive an Oppo-branded selfie stick. Those who want to see the device for themselves before making the purchase will have to wait until the 25th of January for the Oppo F1 to be available in physical stores.
