Power-hungry smartphone users, take note: Asus Malaysia has brought in the ZenFone Max to Malaysia. Featuring a whopping 5,000mAh battery, this mid-range phablet supposedly has a standby time of up to 38 days, which is quite a claim.
Unveiled several months ago alongside the ZenFone 2 Deluxe and Laser, the ZenFone Max is without a doubt aimed at users who do not want to carry any power bank for their smartphone. Speaking of which, thanks to the generous 5,000mAh battery, the Max also doubles as a power bank. Of course, the big battery capacity does not come without any sacrifice: the ZenFone Max weighs 202g and is 10.55mm thick.
As for specifications, the ZenFone Max is your typical mid-range Android device. It has a 5.5-inch 1280 x 720 IPS display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor paired with 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage (expandable with a microSD card up to 64GB), a 13MP rear camera with laser autofocus, a 5MP front-facing shooter, and of course, LTE connectivity. The Max runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop with Asus’ ZenUI out of the box.
The Asus ZenFone Max can now be purchased in Malaysia for RM899. While it’s not exactly a flagship or an affordable device, those who want good battery life should give the Max a thought or two.
