It has been a good few months since HTC officially launched the One A9, and it seems like the device is set to arrive in Malaysia soon. Not too long ago, the One A9 has appeared on SIRIM; it seems like HTC Malaysia hasn’t forgotten about its fans here.
The HTC One A9 marked a departure from HTC’s usual design language. For one, it bears a striking resemblance to the new iPhones, although HTC was quick to mention that it was Apple that copied the design of its smartphones first. Other than that, the company’s signature BoomSound speakers are also missing from the One A9, although the recently unveiled One X9 sees the return of said speakers.
In terms of specification, the One A9 sits comfortably in the upper mid-range section of smartphones. It has a Snapdragon 617 1.5GHz octa-core processor paired with 2GB or 3GB of RAM, a 5.0-inch 1920 x 1080 AMOLED display, 16GB or 32GB of internal storage (expandable with a microSD card up to 200GB), and a modest 2,150mAh non-removable battery. Rounding out the One A9’s specifications are a 13MP rear camera with optical image stabilisation, a 4MP front-facing shooter, and Android 6.0 Marshmallow with HTC Sense out of the box.
While a SIRIM certification does not necessarily mean the HTC One A9 will be launched in Malaysia, there’s a very good chance it will arrive here eventually. After all, it’s one of HTC’s most important devices after the One M9, which was not very well received by consumers.
