Asus Malaysia has quietly refreshed the slim and light UX305 ultrabook in Malaysia. With this refresh, the lightweight laptop is now powered by the Skylake-based Intel Core m series of processors, which should theoretically be faster than the Broadwell series.
We first spotted this refreshed laptop on Asus Malaysia’s Facebook page, which mentioned that the UX305 is now powered by the new sixth generation Intel Core m processors. Unfortunately, the company did not reveal any other information regarding the new UX305, other than the fact that it will go for RM2,799.
However, if we were to go by the Broadwell models of the UX305 in Malaysia, it should be equipped with a 13.3-inch 1080p IPS display, up to 8GB of RAM, a 128GB or 256GB SSD storage, and of course, the Skylake Core m processors. That being said, Asus Malaysia did not clarify which of the three new Core m processors – m3, m5 and m7 – is powering the new UX305 in Malaysia.
In any case, Asus Malaysia mentioned that the Skylake UX305 will be available for purchase this week at all of the company’s retail store outlets nationwide. As for retail price, the refreshed ultrabook is priced from RM2,799, which costs RM100 more over the base model of the Broadwell UX305.
