After a long while since this smartphone was introduced to the world, ASUS ZenFone Zoom is finally coming to Malaysia. According to a press invite that we have just received from ASUS Malaysia, the launch will take place on 13 January.
This means that the company has totally missed the original release date that it has informed us before. Given the time that ASUS took to finalize the device which was only launched in Taiwan last month, the delay didn’t surprise us though.
Over in Taiwan, ZenFone Zoom comes in two different variants with one of them carries the 2.3GHz Intel Atom Z3580 processor and 64GB internal storage while the higher end model is equipped with 2.5GHz Intel Atom Z3590 processor and 128GB internal storage. Both models are equipped with 5.5-inch full HD IPS display that also has a pixel density of 403 ppi alongside 4GB of RAM, and 3,000 mAh battery.
Not to forget, they also share the same 13-megapixels rear camera setup with laser auto-focus system, optical image stabilization, 10-element lens from Hoya, 3x optical zoom capability, and dual LED flash. They also carry a 5-megapixels front-facing camera to handle necessary scenario that requires a front camera such as selfie or video calls.
In Taiwan, the 64GB ZenFone Zoom is priced at NTD 13,990 (about RM 1,855) while the 128GB model goes for NTD 15,990 (about RM 2,120). So, let’s see how different the price will be for the photography-oriented smartphone here in Malaysia when the launch event takes place next week.
