Back in IFA 2015, Acer has unveiled its first Windows 10 Mobile-based smartphone called Liquid Jade Primo. The company fondly referred to it as a “PC Phone” due since it supports Windows 10’s Continuum feature that enables the smartphone to deliver PC-like experience when hooked to an external monitor or TV.
However, very little information regarding the new smartphone were revealed by Acer even though we’ve experience it ourselves at the company’s showcase event in Taiwan last October. That changed this week at though as Acer has officially launched Liquid Jade Primo at CES 2016.
Among the information that we already know beforehand is that the smartphone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 hexa-core processor and equipped with a 5.5-inch full HD display with 100% NTSC color gamut as well as 21-megapixels rear camera and 8-megapixels front camera. The updated specifications now stated that phone will feature AMOLED display panel (instead of Super AMOLED), 3GB RAM, and 32GB internal storage.
Additionally, the phone also includes LTE Cat 6 and 802.11ac MIMO Wi-Fi connectivity. Not to forget, Acer also stated that Liquid Jade Primo will be released in Europe first this February with a price tag of EU 569 (about RM 2,670) before heading off to other regions.
It is not known at the moment if Acer will include additional accessories for the phone as mentioned during its IFA launch and subsequent showcase event in Taipei. Given the hefty price tag that matches Microsoft Lumia 950 which also able to deliver the Continuum experience, a set of bundled accessories might able to give Liquid Jade Primo additional value for money.
