Being one of the major OEM that loves to integrate Intel RealSense 3D camera into its products, it is not surprising that some of Lenovo’s new products in CES 2016 are also equipped with the camera. One such product is the new ThinkVision X24 Pro monitor which is an improvement over the original ThinkVision X24 that was launched last year.
Equipped with a 23.8-inch IPS panel that has a native resolution of 1920 x 1080, 1000:1 contrast ratio, and 7ms response time, the inclusion of the camera means that the monitor is able to support Windows Hello biometric authentication feature on Windows 10 as standard. Apart from the integrated camera and thinner bezel, the monitor also now features USB-C and mDP ports as well as two 3W speakers, and dual-array microphone.
Another interesting factor that made the monitor interesting is the optional accessories that users able to fit into it. One of it the WiGig bar that allows users to dock WiGig-enabled devices (such as the newly announced ThinkPad X1 laptops and tablet) to the monitor wirelessly. Additionally, users can also opt for a monitor base with wireless charger for smartphones.
The new Lenovo ThinkVision X24 Pro monitor will be released sometime in June 2016 with a starting price of USD 399 (about RM 1,730). As for the optional accessories, the WiGig bar will go for USD 250 (about RM 1,084) while the wireless changer monitor stand will be priced at USD 150 (about RM 651).
