LG has recently announced its new ‘Super UHD’ TV lineup featuring HDR (High Dynamic Range) technology at CES 2016. LG will be bringing three new TVs that will include HDR technology or what LG dubs “HDR-Plus”. HDR technology has been around for a while now, but it is rarely implemented on 4K TVs.
LG’s new Super UHD lineup will boast the HDR-Plus technology which is said to combine LG’s Color Prime Plus and Ultra Luminance technology. This will result in a boost of the contrast ratio and colour accuracy of the new TVs. LG’s new 4K HDR TV models include the UH9500, UH8500 and UH7700; each of them range in size from 49 inches to 86 inches. The three new TVs by LG will also come with IPS displays with True Black Panel and Contrast Maximiser for better image output at different angles.
In addition to that, all three HDR TVs by LG will come with LG’s webOS 3.0 software which is said to be unveiled in the coming weeks. Interestingly, the UH9500 has an even slimmer design due to the gap between the display and back chassis being reduced to a mere 6.6mm. Implementing HDR technology along with a 4K resolution display seems like a perfect match since HDR brings better image quality.
Unfortunately, LG did not announce the prices of its new Super UHD TVs yet. According to sources, LG will probably announce the prices during it’s press conference at CES 2016 sometime this week.
