When HMD Global announced that the company is working on new Nokia-branded Android smartphones and tablets that will be made available in 2017, many were excited by the news. However, it made us wonder whether these new devices will make their way into Malaysia as the migration of brand rights from Microsoft to HMD Global might have significant effect on the brand’s distribution channels in our market.
As it turns out though, we have since learned that Avaxx Corporation who is already a long-time distributor for Nokia in Malaysia will continue to do so in the new era of HMD Global. In fact, a quick search online has shown that Avaxx has organized a dinner for dealers to inform them this very fact.
However, no actual new devices were shown at the event – at least, according to pictures that we managed to find through Internet. We believe that more details will be revealed soon enough, so stay tuned.
