It just keeps getting better and better doesn’t it? It looks like there was a piece of information hidden in an earlier report on AMD’s upcoming 8-core Ryzen processor. It turns out that the CPU was overclocked to 5GHz, whilst being air-cooled.
The hidden message on Canard PC’s article was first noticed by Reddit user, lolwut996633. Interestingly, it was displayed in full view as a binary string excerpt on the article. Here’s the binary string in full:
0101101001100101011011100100111101000011010000000
10000010110100101110010001111010011010101000111
Translated to proper text, the code reads “ZenOC@Air=5G”. That aside, it seems rather odd that Canard PC has chosen to not state the air-cooled 5GHz overclock discovery on its article. Perhaps modifications were done to the processor in order to achieve such high frequency speed (disabled cores, voltages etc.)
Nonetheless, it still remains as a rather enticing prospect to ponder upon for PC gamers who are considering on getting a Ryzen CPU upon its release. With more and more rumours like this surfacing, one can’t help but think that we might be getting closer and closer to the actual unveiling of AMD’s highly anticipated Zen-based Ryzen processors.
