They might make you want to scream “what sorcery are those!” but levitating speakers are nothing new in the market even though they might not be popular among consumers. That doesn’t stop LG from joining the crowd though as the company has announced that its new PJ9 Levitating Portable Speaker will be showcased at CES 2017 next month.
Said to have a battery life of up to 10 hours which is rather impressive for such fancy looking wireless speaker, the levitating turbine-shaped speaker unit also apparently able to deliver 360-degrees sound. Inside the speaker, LG has implemented what it called as the Dual Passive Radiator technology in order to help PJ9 deliver good sound quality.
There is also a subwoofer inside the wireless speaker’s base which is called Levitation Station. Once the battery level is low enough, the speaker unit would automatically lower itself into the base to be charged without disrupting music playback. The PJ9 also support up to two Bluetooth devices at the same time.
Designed to be IPX7 standard, the speaker is also able to withstand being submerged into water with depth of up to 1m for 30 minutes. LG has decided to keep the release date and pricing information for PJ9 under wraps at the moment, so expect to hear more about the speaker at CES 2017.
