After releasing three variants of the selfie-oriented F1s in Malaysia for the past few months, OPPO Malaysia will finally release a completely new smartphone into in 2017. It will come in the form of R9s which made its debut in China back in October.
The phone itself is available in two different size as the R9s comes with 5.5-inch display while the R9s Plus is equipped with 6.0-inch display even though both displays still have the same full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution. They are also equipped with different processors as the R9s features 2.0GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 and the R9s Plus carries the 1.95GHz Snapdragon 653 chip.
Even though both models comes standard with 64GB internal storage, the amount of RAM available on them are rather different with R9s is equipped with 4GB while R9s Plus comes with 6GB. Not surprisingly, their battery capacities are different as well at 3,010 mAh and 4,000 mAh respectively.
Of course, you can’t talk about OPPO smartphones without discussing their photography setup. The company has decided to equip both R9s and R9s Plus with 16-megapixels Sony IMX398 sensor for its rear camera although the R9s Plus does feature optical image stabilization as well. There is also another 16-megapixels camera on the front of the phone
For now, it is not known whether OPPO will release both models into Malaysia or otherwise. Nevertheless, we believe the release date shouldn’t be far away as OPPO Malaysia has begun to tease the arrival of R9s via electronic billboards (as shown above) in Kuala Lumpur. So, stay tuned.
