Apple Watch users, rejoice: Pokemon Go is now available on the smartwatch. Despite rumours suggesting that the app was cancelled for the wearable, it’s great to see that it has finally materialised; just in time for the holiday season too.
Although the Pokemon Go app for the Apple Watch enables users to play the game to an extent, there are certain limitations. For one, players can only see nearby Pokemons and PokeStops (they can’t catch any Pokemon from the app itself), collect items from PokeStops, hatch eggs, as well as get candies from their buddy Pokemon.
Despite these limitations, the fact that Pokemon Go players can hatch eggs and collect items from PokeStops with their Apple Watch sound very convenient; it’s definitely better – and more practical – than opening the game at all times on their iPhone. While the Pokemon Go Plus wearable is more feature-rich, it’s not exactly easy to get your hands on one.
The Pokemon Go app for the Apple Watch is now available for download. Hopefully, the app will be available on other wearables as well in the future. After all, it was mentioned that the Pokemon Go app won’t be exclusive to the Apple Watch.
