It looks like developers are very keen on bringing classic PC and console games to mobile devices these days. This time round, folks over at Atari have released “RollerCoaster Tycoon Classic” for Android and iOS devices. In similar fashion, Rockstar Games have also released Bully: Anniversary Edition on both iOS and Android as well.
According to Atari, RollerCoaster Tycoon Classic is a blend of both previously immensely successful titles: RollerCoaster Tycoon and RollerCoaster Tycoon 2. The new mobile game is said to offer up to 95 park scenarios that were adopted from RCT and RCT 2. Of course, as with most mobile games these days, RollerCoaster Tycoon Classic does come with micro transactions. Although, these are limited to a level editor and a couple of content packs.
When it comes to graphics, however, one may be glad (or not) when knowing that RollerCoaster Tycoon Classic is complemented with the old-fashioned, pixelated graphics found on the first two original Windows PC games. It’s worth mentioning the fact that Atari has also worked with Origin8 Technologies – London-based indie games developer – to create the new mobile game.
RollerCoaster Tycoon Classic has been made available on the Google Play Store for a relatively modest price of RM26.99. Meanwhile, the game is also available on the Apple App Store, but is priced lower at RM24.90. Regardless, it’s worth checking this game out if you’re a fan of the old RollerCoaster Tycoon games.
