CES 2017 is happening in about two weeks time, and honor – a subsidiary of Huawei – will be unveiling a new smartphone at the tech convention. Based on the teaser image released by the Chinese company, it’s likely to be a smartphone with a dual-camera setup.
Beyond the teaser image, however, honor did not shed any light on what the new smartphone could be. Looking back, it’s possible that the company will be unveiling the honor 6X for the global market at CES 2017; we have been told so as well from those familiar with the matter.
On top of that, the honor 6X fits the theme of the teaser image well with its dual-camera setup; honor’s #DoubleOrNothing hashtag for the new device and implication of a top and bottom dual-camera system is similar to the honor 6X’s rear cameras too. Then again, it’s worth noting that the honor 6X is not exactly a new smartphone: it was released in China back in October this year.
Regardless, all will be revealed come 3 January 2017, where honor will officially unveil the “new smartphone.” The event page for the event describes the device as “a technology beast geared for the tech-savvy and cost-conscious millennial,” suggesting a budget-friendly smartphone.
