The Steam Winter Sale has kicked off with the usual discounts. More importantly though, users will be asked to vote in the first ever Steam Awards; which has some unusual entries and some even weirder categories.
Those looking for cheap Christmas presents are in luck this time of year, as some of the best games on Steam are being heavily discounted. It’s always nice to see Doom being sold for RM65.67 – a whole 67-percent off. Deus Ex: Mankind Divided also has a similar price and discount. Both games are showing significant discounts despite being released a few months ago.
Other triple-A titles that are on sale for half price are Rise of the Tomb Raider, Tom Clancy’s The Division, Rainbow Six: Siege, and Grand Theft Auto V. However, it is important to note that the Age of Empires II HD bundle is being sold for RM39.80. This includes the new Rise of the Rajas expansion that introduces the Malay empire as a playable faction.
The Steam Awards are also playing a big part in the Winter Sale, just as it did during the recent Fall sale. This time, Steam visitors are asked to cast their votes, with the categories changing each day. The voting starts off with the “Villain Most In Need Of A Hug” Award; with the nominees being Borderlands 2, Dead by Daylight, Far Cry 3, Far Cry 4, and Portal 2. We believe the winner will likely be between Handsome Jack and Glados.
The following categories are listed on the Steam news page, and some of the titles are just simply too long to be taken seriously. Which is perhaps what Valve had in mind when it started this whole thing.
Steam’s Winter Sale 2 January 2017, while the Steam Awards voting will only run until 30 December 2016.
