Good news for U Mobile customers out there that love to purchase contents for their Android devices from Google Play: you can now take advantage of Carrier Billing from today onwards. This capability can be utilized by both prepaid and postpaid customers.
In general, Carrier Billing allows postpaid customers to charge their purchases on Google Play into their monthly bills. As for prepaid customers, the amount will be deducted from their credit balance. This option should be very helpful for users that not inclined to use credit or debit card on Google Play.
In order to purchase Google Play contents through this method, all one need to do is to choose “Use U Mobile Billing” as the payment method. That being said, do note that all purchases through this method are subjected to GST but the pricing shown on Google Play do not include the tax.
Additionally, postpaid customers are only able to purchase up to RM 400 worth of contents from Google Play per month. This limit doesn’t apply to prepaid customers although their ceiling limit is based on the amount of credit that they have.
This new carrier billing technology is powered by Docomo Digital, a leading mobile commerce solution provider whose technology is used by various telcos globally.
