G.Skill has unveiled a new product that’ll make your dull-looking PC look like a ‘rave party’. The company has updated its Trident Z DDR4 RAM module series with what it dubs the “Trident Z RGB”.
One rather interesting feature about G.Skills Trident Z RGB RAM module (aside from it being RGB-lit) is the fact that it requires no additional power connectors. According to the company, power is drawn directly from the motherboard’s DIMM slots. Going back to the subject of lighting, G.Skill has stated that it is currently working on a software that’ll enable users to customise the colours of individual RAM sticks to their liking.
Flamboyance aside, Trident Z RAMs are known throughout the world to be very reliable, so consumers should expect the same with the RGB variant. G.Skill stated that its new Trident Z RGB RAM module is made from a custom 10-layer PCB that’s coupled with hand-picked IC chips. When it comes to performance, the RGB-lit RAM is said to boast frequency speeds of around 4266MHz.
That said, upon release, users may not be able to customise the colours on the Trident Z RGB RAM modules, until a software is made available by G.Skill, which is rather odd. Speaking of which, the Trident Z RGB RAM is expected to be made available worldwide in mid-January 2017, with its respective software coming the month after.
