Galax has unveiled its a very interesting custom GTX 1070 graphics card at a special event held in China recently. The graphics card, which current has no official name, comes with one impressive trait: it’s a single slot GTX 1070. Despite it not having an official name yet, Galax has referred to its latest creation as its “Secret Weapon”.
Unfortunately, not much is known about the performance of the upcoming Galax graphics card. That said, pictures by folks from PConline and XFastest does tell us a lot about the design of the graphics card. Design-wise, the graphics card is said to come with a metallic shroud that features edgy-looking accents. Underneath is where one would find a large copper heatsink.
According to sources, the PCB of Galax’s unreleased single-slot graphics card is somewhat shorter compared to the original GTX 1070 Founders Edition by Nvidia. The graphics card was made longer to fit the extended cooler shroud, which houses the blower-style cooling fan. In addition, the graphics card is also fitted with three display outputs: one HDMI, DisplayPort, and DVI ports each.
It’s worth mentioning that the graphics card will still need to be powered by a single 8-pin power connector. Those aside, the custom Galax GTX 1070 is still a good option for folks who are keen on getting a powerful, single-slot Nvidia graphics card. Regardless, the single-slot Custom Galax GTX 1070 graphics card is expected to go on sale in 2017, and it’ll come with a suggested retail price of around US$379 (about RM1,679).
