If you love watching movies at Dolby Atmos-equipped cinema halls, your options will soon be expanded even further as local cinema operator MBO has announced that it will deploy the acclaimed surround technology at its upcoming cinemas. With the help of Dolby Atmos Cinema Processor CP850, some of these cinemas will be opened as soon as the first quarter of 2017.
Among such location is The Starling Damansara Uptown as well as Elements Mall in Melaka which will receive a Dolby Atmos hall each. These two malls are just part of 10 new MBO Cinemas that will be opened within the next two years.
According to MBO, the Dolby Atmos halls will be called MBO Big Screen as they will also feature a large screen with a width of about 20 meters. For non-Atmos halls, they are still likely to feature Dolby Surround audio technology since MBO will be deploying Dolby Digital Cinema Processor CP750 at its new cinemas as well.
At the same time, these new locations will also be equipped with Dolby ShowVault/Integrated Media Blocks digital cinema solution. Given how MBO has chosen to utilize Dolby cinema audio solutions at all of its upcoming premises, ShowVault seems to be a natural addition to the package.
