Another day, another Nvidia graphics card rumour. This time around, it’s about a job listing by Nvidia that was discovered by the folks at PCWorld. The listing, which was originally posted on LinkedIn, has a few interesting details that point towards a near future launch of the highly anticipated, heavily rumoured, high-end graphics card from Nvidia: the GTX 1080 Ti.
It’s worth mentioning that the job listing on LinkedIn wasn’t entirely about the GTX 1080 Ti. Instead, the listing provides information about an upcoming ‘premium’ feature for GeForce Experience users, but we’ll get to that shortly.
The Nvidia job listing somehow confirms that, yes, there is indeed one more consumer-friendly high-end graphics card left for the company to unveil: the GTX 1080 Ti. The unreleased graphics card was mentioned towards the end of the job listing. It reads “980 Ti users get first spot in line for 1080 Ti pre-orders, or ‘Step Up’ offer”. Bear in mind that this is an official job listing by Nvidia regarding a Senior Marketing Manager position.
That aside, the job listing also contains a new feature called the Nvidia Club GeForce Elite. This ‘club’ bestows GeForce Experience users with plenty of rewards including a free AAA indie game once a year, a free AAA game custom skin or in-game item once every quarter, giveaways, and many more. More lucrative rewards are also available for consumers who choose to enroll in the ‘Club GeForce Elite’ program, which – in true ‘Nvidia style’ – has a fee of US$10 (about RM45) per month.
Regardless, now that we know that the GTX 1080 Ti actually does exist, the only question that remains is…when will it be unveiled? Strong rumours from various sources claim that the most probable date for this would be during CES 2017. We’ll have to wait until then to see if this is indeed the case.
