Just in time for its third anniversary, Honor has officially unveiled its new smartphone which is called Honor Magic. We have been hearing a lot of rumors regarding the device but now, we know that most of them are actually quite far from the truth.
For starters, the Honor Magic does not come with bezel-less design although it might look like one in product photos. Instead, the new phone by the subsidiary of Huawei actually features a 5.09-inch 2K (2560 x 1440) AMOLED curved display.
Built with Huawei’s own HiSilicon Kirin 950 octa-core processor, the new phone also features 4GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage. Honor Magic also come standard with dual-lens 12-megapixels camera on its rear while there is another 8-megapixels camera on its front.
While the specs looked nothing unusual by Honor’s standard, the company has integrate quite a number of smart features inside Honor Magic. One of them is called WiseSmart which takes advantages of the phone’s front facing camera and infrared sensor that allows users to unlock Honor Magic’s display just by picking it up.
Similarly, the phone’s FaceCode feature helps to strengthen user’s privacy by allowing only users with pre-registered faces to see message notifications. Additionally, it also comes with contextually-aware Honor Magic Live system that helps provide users with predictive information based on their usage pattern.
Not to forget, Honor Magic also features Huawei Magic Power speed charging technology which allows 70% of its 2,900 mAh battery to be charged from empty in just 20 minutes. The new Honor Magic will be on sale in China later today for CNY 3,699 (about RM 2,384) but for now, there are no words whether the phone will make its way to other markets soon.
