Back in September, ASUS has launched Zenfone 3 Max in our market through its Malaysian online store. Interestingly, it has come to our attention that there is another Zenfone 3 Max variant that will be making its way into Malaysia later this week.
What made this variant – internally known as ZC553KL – different from the model that ASUS released in Malaysia few months ago is that it is running on a faster 1.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor instead of a MediaTek MT6735 processor. Furthermore, it is also equipped with a bigger 5.5-inch IPS display that also has native full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution.
ASUS also has equipped the ZC553KL with higher resolution camera sensors on both side of the phone. For example, its front camera features 8-megapixels sensor together with wide-angle f/2.2 lens. As for the rear camera, there is a 16-megapixels 1/3-inch sensor alongside f/2.0 lens, and TriTech autofocus system.
Despite the differences, ASUS does retained a number of features from the 5.2-inch Zenfone 3 Max for the 5.5-inch model. Such features include 3GB RAM, 32GB storage, fingerprint scanner and 4,100 mAh battery with reverse charging capability.
Since the hardware on the 5.5-inch variant is more powerful than its 5.2-inch counterpart, we are not surprised that its has a slightly higher price tag of RM 999. Users are able to get their hand on the new smartphone starting from tomorrow onwards.
